FSU had to get some work done indoors yesterday due to the nasty weather in Tallahssee. Patrick Nohe of the Miami Herald reports that Jacobbi McDaniel's surgery for his dislocated and broken ankle was successful.
Here are the guys we for sure know will not play this Saturday (starters in bold): RB Chris Thompson (year), LT Andrew Datko (year), OL Henry Orelus, RG David Spurlock, OL Blake Snider (year, career over), WR Willie Haulstead (likely for year), NG Jacobbi McDaniel (year), DT Darius Cummings, DT/NG Moses McCray.
Rashad Greene is obviously questionable with his ankle. Bert Reed should play more (also an ankle injury).
Greg Reid Florida State: Greg Reid trying to be fully focused for Florida State - OrlandoSentinel.com
Greg Reid, speaking for the first time since his late-September arrest, said Tuesday that he's trying to be fully focused for Florida State. Good video here of Reid.
Who will run the table? - ACC Blog - ESPN
1. Florida State
The lineup: Maryland, NC State, at Boston College, Miami, Virginia, at Florida
The analysis: The Seminoles’ next three opponents are a combined 6-12. If FSU doesn’t come out of that stretch 3-0, Jimbo Fisher has bigger problems this year than we thought. The toughest game in this lineup, as of right now, looks like the home game against Miami. Florida, which is 2-3 in the SEC right now, is definitely beatable. Again.
The prediction: The Noles rebound from a disappointing first-half of the season and the win over Duke was the start of a seven-game winning streak. The loss to Wake Forest? It was the last for FSU in 2011.
Oh, and Maryland has officially announced that C.J. Brown will be its QB for the FSU game. There should be no element of surprise for the defense to overcome and you can bet they will be repping all of the QB runs this week. Brown is a very good runner and an unknown as a thrower. I believe a big part of Brown's success against Clemson was Clemson being unprepared for Brown and not believing he would be the starter over 2010 Rookie of the Year, Danny O'Brien.
