Around SBN: Upon Further Review: Bo Knows Longreads

Carolina missed a potential game-tying field goal attempt with less than a minute left to give the Vikings a win, but Christian Ponder is getting credit for driving the team down the field late in the fourth quarter to set up the game-winning FG.

The Star-Tribune's Jim Souhan is saying that what's impressing Vikings coaches most is his poise and clutch passing.
The Detroit Free Press says that Ponder looked better than Cam Newton on Sunday.
Christian has clearly found a favorite target in Adrian Peterson, whose receiving yards for the season more than doubled on Sunday. Going forward, Ponder must look to improve the production of his TEs, particularly Visanthe Shiancoe, who is in the final year of his contract and has been criminally underutilized in the first half of the season.

Not saying it's all Ponder's fault, or even mostly his fault

After all, he’s only been the man for a couple of weeks now, but that’s an ongoing concern that he’ll have to manage as best he can this season.

Shiancoe’s still a short-yardage weapon, but his production is down by almost a third from this time last year. He’s a free agent next year. If he’s still not happy, he could walk.

They're starting to see in him what we've seen in him for 3+ years

The reasons why Ponder didn’t get to the pinnacles of College Football were all external to his ability and decision making skills.

He’s really a hell of a QB whose college career was hampered by injuries and FSU’s talent shortages at skill positions.

Adrian Peterson

Ponder is showing great judgement in getting Peterson involved, the guy is a talent.

Ponder is proving what we all knew

He is an NFL-quality QB.

Yahoo Sports did a short 4-point article on him after his first start vs Green Bay that said much the same thing.

Here it is

It's funny to see all these Vikings fans

all over CP’s jock when they were so critical of the pick in the draft.

I wonder what that "expert" from the 49ers site is saying about CP7 now.

He and Bud had an interesting back-and-forth a couple of months back.
