This is a weekly feature on TomahawkNation.com in which we review the performances of each of FSU's upcoming opponents. I will not do game charts for games against D1-AA opponents. All game charts are non-garbage time only.
I hope that your enjoyment of each game increases with additional knowledge of the opponent.
Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 | Week 7 | Week 8 | Week 9 | Week 10
Please remember that all of these stats are pre-garbage time only.

Only two opponents left (until we start tracking Notre Dame), haha.
FSU faces Virginia this week. Virginia barely outgained Duke and had worse field position. So how did UVA win this game? Duke was 0-2 on field goals, while UVA was 1-1.
Virginia can run the ball a bit, and they did so against Duke 40 times for 164 yards. That's really not all that great, particularly not at home against Duke (FSU fans have seen Duke's defensive personnel).
Virginia is a 5-5 or 6-4 level team that is very lucky to be 7-3. FSU is favored by 18 for a reason.

On the other hand, UF has certainly been a bit unlucky, both with losing close games (1-3) and with a QB injury at a spot where they had no depth.
The Gators went on the road and played South Carolina quite evenly, even outgaining them. South Carolina was slightly better in the red zone and came away with the win.
UF has the second-best defense FSU will face this year (second to Oklahoma). But the offense doesn't seem to be able to get it together. They do have a de facto bye week against Furman before playing FSU.
