Florida State has offered Juco CB Mohammed "Mo" Seisay out of Eastern Arizona J.C. Seisay is a teammate of CB Travell Dixon, who FSU offered earlier this year. Before coming to Eastern Arizona, Seisay was a star at Memphis earning C-USA All Freshman Team honors and making Phil Steele's Freshman All American Team in 2010. Some of Seisay offers include Ohio State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, California and Arkansas, with most of these offers came within the last month. He is scheduled to graduate in December and will have 2 years of eligibility remaining. I have emailed Mohammed Seisay and I'm waiting to confirm if he will be Official Visiting with Travell Dixon together in December. Seisay has taken two official visits so far in Indiana and Nebraska. I mentioned Seisay as a prospect to watch earlier this year in our Recruiting Discussion back in August link
With Mike Harris leaving, Florida State is looking for more experienced depth in the secondary which Seisay brings along with 6'2 size and the hips to stay at CB. He also has the size to be used at Safety.

So
With Mike Harris leaving, we don’t think Brooks, Keelin, Tyler Hunter, or Nick Waisome can fill the role of 3rd DB?

We offered Juco Travell Dixon earlier this year and with him looking like he is going to Bama we now offered his teammate. Seisay is a great talent just look what he did at Memphis and his film. There is a reason why I brought him up back in August he is a stud.

Even if one of the young guys can step in and play at a high level for substantial snaps, it certainly does not hurt to have a 4th CB or more depth at safety. Plus, even if we count on Xavier Rhodes coming back in 2012, I’d have to think it is unlikely that he would come back for 2013. Thus by Seisay’s senior year all three of 2011’s top CBs will probably be gone. A little experienced depth at the position is a good idea.
Breaking down 2012 and 2013 CB roster
This isn’t accounting for some guys like Brooks moving back from S to CB
2012
Srs Reid and Commack
JR Rhodes
So Waisome
RFr one (figuring at least one redshirting DB ends up at CB)
FR one or two (signees)
2013
Sr Rhodes (though potentially gone to NFL)
Jr Waisome
So 1-3
Fr ?
So a move for Seisay (or other JUCO DB) makes sense. Provides a 3rd or 4th CB in 2012 assuming a spring enrollment, then if Rhodes is gone to the NFL in 2013, is one of two upperclassman – though Brooks moving to CB is a real possibility IMO, given the crop of DBs projected to safety in the 2011 signing class.

So which one of you is Jimbo?:)
I posted this back in August when Seisay had no contact with FSU. He didn’t even have a profile on rivals until last month:
Keep an eye on CB/S Mohammed Seisay(Travell Dixon teammate)
Very talented big(6’2 200lbs) kid who was a Freshman All American(I think third team) at Memphis. I haven’t heard of FSU mentioned with him, but he is a kid worth watching since were recruiting his teammate Dixon.

just to tag
he’s even 1 year older than the profile Michael just posted as he went to Prep School in 2008 (as he was a SR in HS in 2007/2008 school year).
For those wondering, he went to HS in Springfield, VA and Prep at Fork Union.

also
how does he compare to Dixon? looks like he gets a lot of balls thrown his way in the highlights but that could be due to being the lesser of 2 evils with Dixon on the other side of the field
First he has already played pretty well at the D-1 level so he is not a project
Does he have the speed of Dixon? No, but not many players do. He can definitely play corner in our scheme with pretty good hips and about 200lbs at 6’2. Very good at playing the ball in jump ball situations. I wouldn’t have brought him up in August unless I saw something pretty dang good in him when he had barely any offers. Now look at his offer list with the likes of Oklahoma, North Carolina, Nebraska, Arkansas etc all offering in the last month for the most part.
Just watch his highlights when he played D-1 as a freshman(some against Tennessee) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pOS05Lw3Lo

Does he have the hips to play Nickel
Or are we looking at him as more of a boundary guy?

Is this an indication of where we are with Tracy Howard?
I believe playing time is a top factor with T.H. and this won’t help. I’m fine with that as long as we feel really good about the corners we’ll bring in 2013
by FSUALLTHEDAMNTIME! on Nov 30, 2011 10:12 AM EST up reply actions
Hadn't considered that
Thought it was more of an indication of where we are with Dixon and not being willing to pass on a good player who is interested. Hope it doesn’t mean anything with Howard. I like to believe that our staff isn’t the type to scramble last minute like that.

Not at all
We had a Juco offer out to CB Travell Dixon and with him leaning toward Alabama, which I think has more to do with this offer. Not to mention this is a talented kid being recruited by some great colleges.

they're HIS highlights
they’re not going to include all the plays where they throw towards dixon.
How good is the secondary at this JOCO?
Seems like a pretty good D1 secondary.
Maybe we need to establish a pipeline to there.

Really going to miss
Mike Harris! Kid brought it every game

Do you know if he's leaning toward a particular school at this point?
Or too early in the process?

He has only been on 2 official visit to Nebraska and Indiana
Most of the big name colleges have offered in the past month and he has been unable to visit them yet. I have an e-mail sent out to Seisay and hope to have some better answers.

What are the trends with JUCO's?
Is there any general feeling on what percentage of JUCO transfers come in ready to play? We can obviously point to some anecdotal situations in either directions but I am curious if anyone has a perspective based on more than that….
I think what matters
is how FSU’s staff scouts JUCO transfers. Matters little if fewer and fewer are ready to play or if more and more are; there will always be ones ready to play/capable of contributing immediately, whether it is 5% of them or 50%. What truly matters is how well FSU’s staff scouts and identifies the ones who can truly contribute.
So, with that in mind, look at the FSU trend:
07: Brian Coulter – non-factor – don’t think he ever enrolled Grade incomplete due to non-enrollment
08: T. Pressley – non-factor, but injury situation
C. Surrency – contributed one season (non-academic eligibility)
Marcus White – worth it. Three years of eligibilty, started two of the years.
J. Tonga – came in with what the NCAA ruled as one year of eligibility. Lost appeal for 2nd. 2nd team OT at FSU
Grade B-: – grade this high due to White. Could argue it was a C easily, but Tonga and Surrency only tied up scholies for one year each
09: no JUCOs
10: Mike Harris – starting nickelback first year, “co-starter” as senior. Very good pickup
Anthony McCloud – picked up with three years of eligibility. Contributed first year, starting reps in 11. another good pickup
D. Smiley – second team FB. also three years of eligibility
McCloud and Smiley were sign and place. Grade B+ so far; Smiley been somewhat disappointing IMO.
11: Tank Carradine – ended season getting as many reps as starter, projects as starter in 2012 if Jenkins leaves early
Jacob Fahrenkrug – while the OL is bashed this season, ’Krug has started from day 1 of showing up. As signing JUCO is often about filling gaps, grade him a success
2011 is a A-. Carradine would be a starter if not for the remarkable jump of Werner from freshman to sophomore. Worth it anyway for what he has provided in depth at DE.
So, I think FSU’s staff is doing really well sorting through the potential JUCOs that are ready. Under John Lily, FSU didn’t have near this success rate, but Coley/Craig have done really well finding players who have contributed instantly, contributing if not starting (those that enroll anyway – and ‘07 was a Lily as RC year). Pressley is the only one who didn’t make at least second team but he was just unlucky health wise, seriously tearing his ACL during his first pre-season. Tonga would be my next most disappointing, and he did play as a second team OL (losing out the starting battle to two freshman Datko (LT) and Sanders (RT))

worth mentioning
look at the ones that got away. Blount in ’08 comes to mine. FSU had commitments from JUCO RBs Blount and Pressley in ’08, but Blount decommitted (Pressley had been rated higher, and FSU had a number of freshman RB commitments). Blount is now playing in the NFL with the Bucs.

Really appreciate your breakdown
I guess with every player I am looking for a home run and I need to realize that quality depth is every bit as important. Some of these guys may come in a serve quality depth. I also agree that how you recruit and who you ultimately bring in is the important part. It is certainly not a numbers game like my question slightly insinuated.
Puts things in perspective.
We’re definitely better off having pursued these JUCOs when you see it laid out.
Great info, Rec for sure.
Would have loved to see C.Surrency get another year of eligibility, it was kind of B.S. the way they did him. If I recall properly, they counted some kind of flag football league he was in against his eligibility. Anyway, he seemed to have some real tools, to bad he didn’t have more time to hone his talents. I don’t even think he had a whole year, pretty sure he got hurt.

I really felt bad for that kid, and thought he could have had some real success if he would have been given another year. We sure could have used him in 2010.

Our WR play in general, just wasn't very good in 2010.
I have to say, the two things that impressed me the most about FSU’s play this year were, A-The Germanator, and 2-The WRs. Both were much better than I thought they would be.
Bjoern Werner looks to me, to be one of the best DE in the Nation. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is 3, and gone to the NFL. I also think if I was drafting for the NFL, I would take BW95 over B.Jenkins. If that is totally crazy, let me know; but if it is close, then I will stick with it.
Then there are the WRs, they were a mess last year. This year they have been very good, in spite of a bunch of injuries, and starting almost all underclassmen.

I expected BW based on what I saw last year. Still exceeded my expectations though. WR a pleasant surprise.
BJ49 is more versatile, faster. BW95 bigger, stronger, more valuable too a 40-front, and a better overall football player with a higher ceiling due to lingering raw-ness……IMO.

Not just highlight hits, but squaring up properly and driving the ball-carrier.
