Arrington Jenkins, a redshirt freshman linebacker from Miami, was arrested Saturday on a charge of vehicle grand theft.

Should remind everyone that a scooter or other motor vehicle also qualifies here under the statute.

This could also be a simple case in which he normally had permission to use the vehicle, then got in an argument with the owner of the vehicle, who then reported it stolen while Jenkins was riding or in possession. That scenario is not all that uncommon, actually.

As always, we'll await the facts. An arrest is just an arrest. It doesn't mean Jenkins did anything wrong. To make a judgment on this either way is dumb at this point.

Jenkins allegedly told the TPD "Anyone who leaves a motorcycle out in the open should expect to have it stolen."

Judgement no longer reserved.
