Merry Christmas from up in Illinois! Not the land of Lincoln, but the land where Lincoln Logs are needed. In an attempt to escape this cold tundra, I will be traveling to the sunshine state next week! I’m hoping that I won’tbring this abysmal weather with me. I have been keeping an eye on the models in hopes that I will arrive to 80’s 70's and green fairways.
As of right now I believe that may be possible. GFS model shows a large area of high pressure entrenched over the eastern seaboard on the 29th. The only reason for concern is an area of moisture located over FL. The GFS has been waiving back and forth with this “ploom” of moisture for the last few days. I’m going to keep a positive outlook right now and say that the chance for rain is slim. Temps should be in the mid to upper 70’s. It’stoo far out to tell exactly, but as we get closer ill come out with the usual “game time forecast.”
I hope everyone has a safe and merry Christmas. I’ll do my best to stay up on the latest developments as we draw closer to game time. Do keep in mind I will be traveling. Have no fear though, there is a “stocking full” of experienced and knowledgeable meteorologists on this site. Many of them are far more knowledgeable and educated than me. Check back this weekend for updates and game time weather!
GO NOLES!
UPDATE:
Wanted to go ahead and shoot the game forecast out. Most models are in agreement that Thursday will be a sunny and cooler day in Orlando. Looks like my hopes of 70's are out the window. I only expect the high to reach 69F on Thursday. As night falls over the region expect temps to fall into the low 50's during the game. Winds wil be no greater than 5mph. Dress warm if you aren't drinking some Bourbon pre-game. GO NOLES!!
