Big basketball game tonight down in Gainesville. I know NorCal Nole will have the preview up. Let's see if the 'Noles can pull it out.
Also, I've heard the Greg Hudson to Auburn rumor, but not from a credible source. I think it is completely bogus and would be beyond shocked if that happened.

Really? Only UF? I mean, I understand why UF, but there is just so much to hate about Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn, and Alabama.
The only above-average team that has never bothered me is LSU. Don’t know why, but just never had an issue with anything LSU.
As for the rest, they’re just chumps, so yeah … no worries.

Rec for this part:
“Try explaining to them what a recovered fumble is, and it makes you want to smash the computer.”
That is freaking hilarious.
I’m still baffled at their lack of understanding on the subject. It appeared to be only the SB Nation crop of ‘Bama fans that couldn’t quite figure it out. It was and still is, amazing.
Editor at Alligator Army.
Basically, it’s this play:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zo5x1TPp2VU&feature=related
Now, nobody is debating on whether or not he fumbled it (he did) but whether or not Brantley regained control of the ball on the ground.
Best angles are at the 1:20 mark, the 1:34 mark, and from 1:40 on. You can clearly see, that he is using his right arm (and chest) to cover up the ball. ’Bama fans however, would tell you he is never on top of the ball, nor is his arm even near the play and that the ball is rolling around the entire time.
But it’s pretty simple. Recovered fumble or not? I say yes, easy.
Editor at Alligator Army.
I say no
Just to frustrate you and see where you with this from here :)

Also from the link about Terry Bowden:
I had to go back and read this part twice:
“Bowden, who was one of the most charismatic coaches in college football at Auburn, may be helped in attracting recruits to Akron by his legendary father, Bobby Bowden. His brother Jeff is a top assistant at North Alabama and could come with him to Akron.”
That is so absurd it made me laugh out loud.
Jeff Bowden’s career is pretty amazing – that’s amazing in a bad way. Walked on at FSU – where his dad coached. 27 year coaching career and all but three of those years he’s had either one of his brothers or his father as his boss. How does he not even try to leave the nest?
That aside, I think this is a pretty good hire for Akron. Whatever is to be said about Terry Bowden, the fact is he’s won at every stop in his career and he has proven experience as a head coach. He should energize a pretty demoralized fanbase in Akron and, at a minimum, he’ll guarantee more media coverage for Akron than they likely ever received under Rob Ianello or JD Brookhart.

Unreal
This idea of missing practice. I had been away from the game for awhile as a player when I started helping coach high school a few years back. And I was shocked to see kids just not come to practice. Then, I was amazed, candidly, when they ran a little bit and were still on the team and played on Friday nights.
That didn’t happen when and where I grew up. And it damn sure didn’t happen when I was in college. Our Monday practice was always at night, so that players could schdule their labs that afternoon. It’s when you HAD to have them.
I’ve read snippets where players at UF were missing practice this year and it pissed Muschamp off, to the point he made some comments about it and the former coaching staff.
Sometimes you have to be willing to lose some games to win bigger, later down the road. And letting players hold you hostage just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Are they being so annoying lately for payback due to us making fun of them for so long when they were too scared to play us?
'Gentlemen, it is better to have died a small boy than to fumble this football.' John Heisman
They’re too scared to play anyone. In 2001 (for the 2002 schedule and beyond), when the SEC ruled that two permanent rivals were too much, they were given a choice to play either Florida or Georgia as their permanent SEC East rival. They chose Georgia, and we in turn, remained with LSU.
Auburn, without question, has the worst inferiority complex of any FBS school.

That’s saying a lot with teams like Boise State out there.
But I think I agree with this assessment.
They seem to be pretty shady in everything they do. I’m sure a lot of it was Bammer propaganda being funneled out into the open, but when Cam’$ pay for play drama was being hung out in the open, there was a lot of info being leaked about a blatant booster payments for years.
'Gentlemen, it is better to have died a small boy than to fumble this football.' John Heisman
Yeah, but nobody can get their boosters to pay like SMU and UF in the mid-80’s. We was rolling!
Editor at Alligator Army.
There are a lot of reasons to call Auburn cowards
There are a lot of reasons to call them the War Chickens BUT choosing UGa over UF isn’t one of them. That’s the oldest football rivalry in the south, at least, according to the parties involved. That one was a no-brainer, wasn’t it?
It's what we learn after we know it all that counts. John Wooden
They first played in the early 1890’s, but have only been annual opponents since WWII.
Auburn and UF had been annual opponents since 1912. Though we did have a 10 year break in the 20’s.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, if I was Auburn, I’d have picked Georgia as well, but it doesn’t mean I can’t talk smack about it either. Much like the choice we made between continuing the FSU or Miami series. We chose FSU, and everybody slams us. So I feel like I can do the same in that regard.
Editor at Alligator Army.
Fair enough
Seems to me, you got the chance to either play the only big time school in one state OR little brother in another.
You got the chance every other year to go to New Orleans and stay (if so inclined) for the weekend OR you could go stay in Opelika (or if a “Big Spender” you could stay in Columbus).
For us, Auburn sent us a fax and a nice fat check to buy out of the 1999 beat down we were going to put on them. Lucky for us, we got La Tech to replace them. As it turned out, La Tech helped our strength of schedule that year, as they would go on to beat the SEC Champions from the state of Alabama, the Crimson Tide.
The timing of dropping Miami is one of the reasons you get slammed, seems to me. When you add to it, that UF forced Miami to play in Gainesville in 82 and 83 and then at the neutral site of Tampa for the 84 and yet, still dropped them…..well..you can see how that looks.
You know what they say. “All dirt roads lead to Auburn.”

That game in Tampa was also the first ever live on TV ESPN college football game. But yeah, it probably was bad timing, but we had to choose. Personally, I feel like the correct decision was made. Granted, I was born in 1984, so I don’t know another way, but I like playing y’all. I’d be so pissed if we couldn’t anymore.
But our rivalry with Miami is always a win for us, no matter what, because of the Florida Flop in 1971.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_Uzu-wPFmc
Editor at Alligator Army.
Ouch
You call that a win? See, I think that’s one of the lowest points of UF football history (and that’s saying something!)
My mother kept a clipping from the Florida Flop all these many years and we didn’t have a dog in the fight.
As to that game being the first live on ESPN, not so. ESPN did both the 1980 FSU/LSU and FSU/Pitt games for example. I happen to have both DVDs sitting on my desk and am looking at them as I type.
It's what we learn after we know it all that counts. John Wooden
I think it’s freaking hilarious. Especially the jump in the pond after the game.

we slam uf
Because they are vaginas!! If they had a pair they would be taking teams like FURMAN off their schedule and replacing them with the U…don’t get me wrong, Miami is getting worse and worse as a football team but this is the state Of Florida and Fsu plays miami and Uf every year…yes we are state champs for the second straight year but it would mean a little more if UF Played UM every year…Fsu is playing USF, UM, and UF next year..which will be our 3rd straight state champs year…not to mention our first National Championship title since 99…2012 is almost here and I Can’t wait!!

Wouldnt the fact Auburn v Georgia is the oldest rivalry in the deep south be a bigger reason why they chose to keep UGA and drop UF?
Oh like I said, if I was them, I would have kept Georgia, but that doesn’t prevent me from talking smack about it.
Editor at Alligator Army.
IDK about that.
A&M is pretty bad as well.
Seminole Game Day -- "All the trash talkin' stops, when the spear drops."
LOL, just because you ARE inferior as a program. Doesnt mean you can’t have a complex. Try being in a state where there’s a “Longhorn network” … A&M literally left the conference because of inferior complex (warranted).
Seminole Game Day -- "All the trash talkin' stops, when the spear drops."
Haha
That’s what makes it so humorous. I don’t even know that it’s a complex if you are genuinely that inferior as a program. Plus, I’ve heard the Perry/BOT/AD situation is a nightmare that scared off several canidates, AND their AD is low on funds. Something like 13th or 12th lowest HC and assistants salaries in the SEC, IIRC

Jeff Bowden forever ruined my perception of the air raid
Knowing what he did to us, and knowing that he was executing the air raid by the book just ruined it for me. Never again.
I now see the air raid as the football equivalent of those late night no-money-down real estate scams. Despite the promises of endless winning, the actual methods are inherently suspect and far more programs end up ruined than reaching the promised land because of it.
I’m at the point where I’m more receptive to even the triple option than ever trying the air raid again.

given what we saw from him this year. At no point in his four year career have I looked at Zebrie and thought he was a 1st round pick. The guy has above average skill set for an OL but has never really put it all together. Me thinks after teams put the tape on from this year and really break him down he ends up a 2nd or 3rd pick based mostly off physical ability.
