Florida State goes for the sweep today against Boston College and also looks to continue their streak of Sunday wins. The Seminoles did not lose a game played on Sunday all last season. After winning a 3-1 pitchers' affair in Game One, the Florida State bats were able to take advantage of some very poor Boston College pitching on Saturday to earn a 15-6 victory. Sherman Johnson, Rafael Lopez and Taiwan Easterling each had three hits last night.
Scott Sitz gets the start today which means Gary Meirans will probably start against Florida on Tuesday in Gainesville. Seth Miller returns to the starting lineup in left field.
FInal Update: FSU wins 4-3 on a bases loaded sac fly in the bottom of the ninth by Rafael Lopez. The Seminoles overcame six innings of nothing at the plate as Boston College coach Mike Gambino left his starter in too long in the seventh inning and allowed the Seminoles to erase a 3-run deficit. But it seems in retrospect he didn't have much choice as his relievers were not very effective and FSU threatened in the eighth and won it in the ninth.
