After 2 extra inning losses in a row FSU takes the field to try and change their luck. I'll try to keep you updated through here and my twitter account (@evenflow58).
FSU played well last night. Gilly dueled Hultzen to a standstill and FSU had multiple opportunities to win but couldn't plate the run they needed to finish the Hoos. Some interesting notes from the game:
- Jayce Boyd was pulled for Posey after Boyd did not run down to first following a passed ball strike three. Posey went 1-2 with a HBP, single, and K.
- McGee pulled up lame in the 8th or so running down to first. He was immediately pulled from the game. It'll be interesting to see if he returns.
- 11 had chances to bunt over a lead off runner with no outs in the 8th and 9th and decided to let the batter swing away. Seth Miller almost rewarded him with a shot to center but it was run down by John Barr. Both innings ended in DPs.
- Bennet pitched well. I didn't think he was laboring but ended up giving up 2 doubles by Hicks and Proscia to pick up the loss. That's baseball for you.
It's a new day. Go Noles!
