Thank You Derwin Kitchen
A) Consistently under-rated point guard.
2) The only player on his team who can really create his own shot.
G) A solid ball-handler.
PI) A great rebounding guard.
We will miss you at FSU next season. I know there will be some who want to blame the last possession of overtime and the last possession of regulation in the Sweet 16 game on you. But I know it wouldn't even have been close without you. 23 points, 11 rebounds - Not bad for your last game in garnet and gold. I'll remember you for the last second layup to beat UNC in the ACC tourney - the last game that future National Champion lost that year. I know you're disappointed now. We're all disappointed now. But I want to let you know how grateful I am you played for my Seminoles. So from the bottom of my heart, sincerely, Thank You Derwin Kitchen.

Well said
Derwin was the catalyst on the best FSU basketball team I’ve ever watched. Thanks for the ride.
I'm very worried about our pg situation next year without him.
Loucks and Miller? I have good hopes for Miller, but he wasn’t good enough this year to take away minutes from Loucks.

Correct, Sir Trick.

I know.
My point was more that Loucks is not very good. He did average less minutes per game this year than last, so somebody took minutes away from him. Maybe a few of them were because of Miller. I don’t trust either guy to competently run the offense at this point and only Miller has the opportunity to change my opinion of him.

Miller was injured for a while this season
And never really got back into his groove. I anticipate a strong offseason of preparation and training from him, and a potential breakout year next season.
I actually don't think the time off had much affect.
I thought he had his moments both prior to and after the “injury”. If he had played all year it’s likely he would’ve improved more. I’m just saying I don’t think it caused him to regress.

Very well said, probably the reason why you're batting 1.000 on recs right now...
Thanks for inviting me out today. I really needed some time to stop worrying about my love life.

Thank you Derwin for a great season!
You make me proud to be a Seminole.
Mike Martin should go coach Hawaii. Then he could have all the poi's he ever wanted - MattDNole
Like probably most people at this website, I love college sports more than the pros.
But the one bittersweet part of the college game is that you are always saying bye to great competitors you spend several years rooting for. This last season was a great one for DK, he came through so many times with big shots…and rebounds.
Good luck to you DK!!!
Why ask useless questions? How deep is the ocean? How high is the sky? Who is John Galt?
What nobody likely realizes is that Kitchen scored just as many points per shot this year as Douglas did his senior season.
And throughout each player’s 3 year FSU career, their points per shot were nearly identical. Douglas obviously just took more shots. Also had a much better A/TO than Douglas. This year he only averaged 1 rebound per game less than FSU-leading Chris Singleton. He is the only FSU player in Hamilton’s tenure to average 8 points, 5 boards and 3 assists per game and he did it each of the last two years, and if you want to round up from 4.6 boards and 2.5 assists his sophomore year, Kitchen did it all 3 years while at FSU. He has 2 of the top 3 assists per game seasons in Hamilton’s 9 years here.

He also leaves 14th all time in assists at FSU,
and 16th in steals. Not bad for a guy who played 2 2/3 seasons.

When you only get to see 4-5 games per year
it’s hard to get an appreciation for a player like Kitchen. Thanks to norcal, celtic, trick, etc. for bringing to light the praise he obviously deserves.

Very well said. DK was a stud.
What kind of draft talk, if any?
"alot of people dont realize that FSU is about to TAKE OFF" - Telvin Smith
I think he should be looked at in the 2nd round.
He’s a guy that could be a good bench guy imo.

With the next pro season having a possible lockout
And DK definitely good but not a first rounder. He might almost be better off in a league overseas for a season. He can still make good money and can get alot of exposure in a premier league that can get him both some higher level experience and a move to the NBA with a bit more exp after a year or so from teams signing him as a FA as opposed to going in the second round and possibly playing D league for awhile in an uncertain year for the NBA
A Seminole warrior killed in battle is a legend remembered. A Gator lost in battle becomes a pair of boots and a belt.
The funniest thing is that we came very close to not even having him, right?
Did we not have to petition for an extra year of eligibility for him?
Formerly known as Randall W. Spetman
You're probably thinking about how he wasn't allowed to play at the beginning of his sophomore season when he first transferred here.
There was some hold up with grades or test scores or diplomas. Don’t think there was any issue after that.

Our MVP this year IMO
Love Chris, but we were a better team without CS than we were without DK this season.
