Dante Fowler, an elite defensive end from Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, Florida committed to Florida State on December 5th. Fowler stands 6'3" and weighs over 240 pounds. Fowler projects to play at 6'3"/6'4" and 260+ pounds after a year or two in Florida State's strength program. That frame is important as FSU is done taking defensive ends who max out at only 240 pounds, and Fowler definitely has room for another 20 pounds.
Dante Fowler, Jr. is the son of Dante Fowler. He is the early favorite to be the best defensive end in the state and is a national recruit with early offers from FSU, UF, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, etc. For comparison purposes, he is a stronger version of current FSU defensive end Brandon Jenkins. His cousin is Chris Davis, who played receiver for the 'Noles in the early 2000s.
Fowler has very good quickness and uses his hands well. He is an instinctive defender, as you can see in these two videos:
