Why Chris Singleton may have been the steal of the NBA draft
Florida State F Chris Singleton dropped a lot farther than most experts had him going in Thursday night's NBA Draft.
But dropping all the way to the Washington Wizards at #18, Singleton may have just been the steal of the draft!

I really hope he doesn't go to the Cavs...
Not the biggest fan of them after the whole LBJ thing. Plus I’d like to see him be somewhere he can block shots back into Joakim Noah’s face.
I've honestly thought
Utah would be a great spot for him. Kirlenko’s contract is up and he can step in right away and replace him.
"Utah would be a great spot for him"
yeah…except for the whole thing about it being Utah.

He won't be going top 4 so no worries.

The Nuggets or New York seem like a good fit.

Toney Douglas...
plays for the Knicks, right? Did Singleton play with him at FSU? Can’t remember. Either way, there’s gotta be comfort in knowing you’ll be playing with another Nole.

Yes to both your questions.

#1 pick
outtatheway Irving, defense is the first one off the board tonight!

Houston Rockets at 14.
He’d be a perfect fit between the offensive minded kevin martin and luis scola. Fill the void left by shane battier.
Houston is likely..either way I dont see him going past the 18th pick

Chris Singleton in a Heat uniform would be a classic Riley move
Hopeful…but I doubt it

Yeah,
Almost no chance he goes that far, but one can dream can’t he?

No. Screw the Heat.
I’d rather have another FSU 1st Rounder.

Im hurt...sniff... at all the hate
No matter, it appears that the Michael Jordan-Leonard Hamilton connection points to Chris going to Charlotte Bobcats for the 2nd pick the Bobcats have acquired in the 1 st round:

I’d rather FSU build its basketball accolades.

I've seen a lot of mocks having him go at #13 to Phoenix
I think that would be a great spot for him as they could definitely use his defense.
Plus I don’t hate Suns.
Tim Tebow made me an atheist.
One thing I've noticed
ESPN keeps asking who the “most intriging player” in the draft is, and I haven’t heard Singleton’s name once (heven’t heard his name at all actually). How is the most well rounded player in the draft not being talked about at all?

I heard everything from 7-17
I’m not sure this Draft is a big stinking pile though. I think Singleton might have the most value mid round.
The Funk Phenomenon.
LOL
New York passed on Singleton and the crowd freaked out.

Shumpert is a good defender, but not like Singleton, horrible pick for the Knicks.

and they picked SHUMPERT?
who, incidentally, wasnt invited to the draft. my goodness, that was a shocker.
the new GM is arguing that they needed defense, so they drafted him. they ignore the fact that Singleton was expected to be picked there, and he is a better defender, hands down. yeah, those fans were pissed.

That was classic.
Spike Lee seemed to say he hadn’t even heard of Shumpert. I wish we could’ve gotten his thoughts on Singleton. That woman interviewing him was awful. She called Landry Fields, Carl Landry and she finished off the interview with “Maybe the NBA will let you play 6 on 5 next year.”

With the 18th pick in the 2011 NBA draft...
The Washington Wizards select… Chris Singleton (croud screams for joy) out of Florida State. Excellent pick. They REALLY need some defense.

I'm a Wizards fan
and I am ECSTATIC about picking up Singleton. We need better defense and that’s Singleton’s best quality. So pumped.
Now how about Derwin Kitchen??
I think he’ll make it in the first.
