Freshman offensive tackle Jordan Prestwood is leaving FSU

There had been mixed signals about this. His friend Aaron Lynch spurned FSU for Notre Dame, Prestwood missed a ton of classes while being lonely/immture/homesick and may have been ineligible for Fall. He wasn't going to get PT this season after failing to put up 10 bench reps at the start of S&C (guaranteed to redshirt), though he is still a good prospect. In the end, this was a kid who was not ready to leave home and was not mentally ready to enroll in college. The girlfriend was at home, his friends were at home, and his mind was not in Tallahassee Let's be classy and wish him the best of luck. A young kid who didn't find the right on his first try will now try again. FSU has really had some bad luck with backup offensive tackles in the last few years-- bad luck that had nothing to do with a player not turning into a good player. But FSU taking nine offensive linemen in the last cycle now makes even more sense. On another note, after getting Aaron Lynch into school and perhaps taking Prestwood with all of his spring grades, Notre Dame needs to be considered a serious football school again.
