We the Seminoles (FSU RAP ANTHEM)
As Jimbo has brought our team closer to joining the ranks of the elite, we thought it was necessary to step up the fan videos in similar fashion!
Check out the appearances by Lonnie Pryor, Dustin Hopkins, Cam Erving, Anthony Porterfield, Cameron Erving, Rashad Gholston, and the legendary Peter Warrick. As we all know, every reconstitution of the swagger that comes with being an elite team, isn't complete until somebody makes a rap song!
Pass the video around to all your friends and let them know that September 3rd is just around the corner!

this is one of the coolest things I have ever seen!

oh man I've got a bad feeling about this.
I remember after the ‘87 season, we though we were ready to explode on the national scene in ’88. A lot of parallels between that year and this. The program was climbing and getting a lot of good press. A lot of excitement in the Nole nation. We though we’d beat miami to start the season, having lost by 1 point in ‘87, and then we’d roll our way to the NC game. Sure we had a new QB, but he was a junior developed under Mark Richt and he’d already proved himself in starting and winning a bowl game when Danny MacManus was out with injury. Many starters were coming back.
So the players though it would be a great idea to make a rap video that summer:
“We are the Seminoles of Flor’da State
We know we’re good, some say we’re great…”
Then we got obliterated at miami, 33-0. The local radio show in Tally had different lyrics for the rap video at that point:
“We had Prime Time and Sammy with us
They might as well just stayed on the bus…”
That rap video has lived in infamy ever since. How soon the young forget and repeat the mistakes of their elders. Or something.

Ha. I remember that.
Cameos aside, this was not performed by all the players. Plus, we don’t open with a UM-caliber team. On the whole, however, I’d be content with a 1988-like season performance (finishing, what, #3 in the polls? Sounds pretty good these days…).
Was JUST about to say I will take a #3 final ranking.

It was 31-0 (not that two points really matter)...
but I won’t ever forget that score. The thing about it was the Noles were damn good…didn’t lose another game including the world famous Puntrooskie game at Clemson. FSU finished #3 just behind UM who barely lost to #1 Notre Dame earlier in the season.

Correct, Sir Trick.

Not 87
A) Chicago didn’t just win the Super Bowl a year ago with an epic rap video
2) This rap and video don’t suck like the 87 one did
d) It’s a fan video, encouraging fans to support their Noles; not players rapping about how good they are
iv) good production value, not done with a casio keyboard and a video recorder
$) Peter Warrick…. Nuf said.
Haha
very cool, not a rap fan but this was well done.

I like it, I hope this catches on.
I love the seminole rap though, my buddies and I play that after every win.
I coulda SWORE I saw Lonnie Pryor in that video........
:10 seconds in? 1:56 in? Got Damn it looks JUST like him, no?
"Coach Fisher just told me to not put any pressure on myself, just be E.J. He said if I'm myself, that's more than enough for us to be successful this year."
Are these "cameos" from the players legal?
I guess I’m just overreacting to all the Ohio St/UNC/USC/ stuff.
"Coach Fisher just told me to not put any pressure on myself, just be E.J. He said if I'm myself, that's more than enough for us to be successful this year."
if anything
i think it’d be more along the lines of the situation in tuscaloosa with t-town men’s wear. as long as he does not profit from the association between the players and the commercial product (the video) and the players do not receive any benefits (obviously) it should be fine
That is Lonnie and they are legal
This video was actually reviewed and cleared by the NCAA and FSU’s compliance office before we put it up. This coordination with the university is also why there are no highlights in the video, because it would violate licensing agreements.
I told you, we stepped up the game on this one.

=====>U SUCK 45-17<=====
I was kinda disappointed to open this page
And not see Primetime or Odell Haggins featured.
Don't know
Maybe, the young like it? Think Jimbo wouldn’t stand for it? Nice job, TallytoCali…Just don’t see any motivation in the vid. Good job on the vid. Just enjoy, DejaVuEra12 better. Nice job, we all have our own opinion’s.
one quick question
do you like Auburn or Florida State?
Check out the 2012 Recruiting Discussion Threads in the FanPost section
FSU all day.
FSU, but I know why you’re asking. My best friend is an Auburn alum, and so I did a video for them last year and they won the championship. I figured I might as well see if there was any more luck left in the camera and I did this. If you look at the production value, I think it’s pretty clear which one I favor.

No, different Michael
I am Michael Fahey. I graduated FSU in 09’, live in California, edited the documentary Forks Over Knives (get it on Blu-Ray this September!), and currently edit for the NFL Network. Additionally I have directed and edited over 20 music videos for artists across the nation (under the moniker Faba). But Mike Bane is a friend.

I was definitely impressed with the quality of the video.
Figures you graduated from FSU with the great job you’ve done. Wasn’t trying to harrass you. I just ask a lot of questions because I’m genuinely curious.
33 days till the season starts.
No problem
Thanks for complimenting the video. Seminole Productions and Media Production taught me a lot.

Cool video, but I think some of the young guys on here need a history lesson on rap videos.

Best line of the clip……
Lamar Thomas: “I respected those guys, because they kept us on the schedule. Unlike the Gators.”

Not bad...
… for a white dude. Kidding! Decent rap, good production value. It would be worth working into the pre-game.
First of all, I'm not a rap fan. My initial response when seeing the post was "not again"...
however, I opened it at the house, and my kids come in and say…
“mr michael”…too funny.
nice job.
Am I in Bizaro World?
Didn’t we learn our lesson from 87’? That rap still comes up in conversation and it’s embarrassing, just like this is embarrassing. Did we win the NC and I missed it? See now if we drop ONE game next year this song will be thrown in our faces. Especially if it’s Miami or Florida. Jesus!

Go Noles!
I don't think it's the same, because the players aren't doing it.
We expect fans to be…well, fanatical.
Right, this is by a fan not the players.
For what it’s worth I saw over at AA that there was a Gator rap that came out literally a day after this one did. So I don’t think that we are the only school that has songs made about us.

I think you're overreacting.
This is at least the 3rd such song that’s been made in the last 5 years by various artists.

Like I said
if we drop ONE game next year this song will be thrown in our faces. Especially if it’s Miami or Florida. Why give them ammo. You don’t see OU or UF making this garbage. You may as well put a bullseye on your back.
Go Noles!
Who cares if a gator or um fan laughs at us for that?
It’s all about just having fun, if students at fsu enjoy the song then why not? This is nothing like the song from ’87 which was awesome imo.
If we beat y'all i will pick about this video.
Although, it will be done in fun, too. That’s what college football is all about, or at least, should be about. Good natured digs at rival schools.

Actually a gator rap came out the day after this one
I don’t think that this will be thrown in our faces. What are they going to say? Oh well your fans make cool professional quality rap videos! What is wrong with yall???
That doesn’t make much sense to me. I don’t think that it is a big deal at all.

I have to admit... I was a little skeptical at first.
I thought it was a little on the corny side but dude rapping got some skills. I can’t even hate on him about that. “Ask not what this school can do for you, homie show-up on gameday and chop it til it’s screwed”… LOL yea that was nice…
not that bad
the video for this song is actually pretty decent, but the rap on the ’07 version is waaay better:
Not as good as this version
