The S&P+ Ratings are a college football ratings system derived from the play-by-play data of all 800+ of a season's FBS college football games (and 140,000+ plays). The 3 components that determine a team's S&P+ are Success Rate, Equivalent Points per Play, and Opponent adjustments. So what draws my attention? After accounting for strength of opponent, frequency of big plays given up, and opponent drive efficiency, FSU finished with its best passing defense in over 5 years in 2010.
