Jimmy Everett, one of Tallahassee's favorite sports figures, lost his battle with ALS and died at the age of 57.
Everett was an assistant principal and athletic director at Lincoln High School. He was diagnosed with ALS in late 2009 and brought his battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease to the public eye as his son pitched for the FSU Seminoles. Everett was often seen at Dick Howser Stadium where he watched son Tyler pitch for the Florida State baseball team. Last season, he even threw the first pitch to his son.
RIP Jimmy, you will be missed.
