It's the bye week for the 'Noles and many players have been held out of practice in the continuing effort to get healthy for the bye week. E.J. Manuel has been doing some light throwing and coach Fisher said there is a chance he could play against Wake Forest on October 8th. Do not count on that. I am personally not expecting him back that soon. Manuel is so much better if he is a serious run threat. It just makes sense to hold him out until he is fully healthy.
We'll have a separate article on this later in the week or early next week, but FSU is working on figuring out the best way to use its offensive personnel. They did not expect the young receivers to be this good, this early, nor did they expect the veteran tight ends to be as awful as they've been. Oh, and this could be the perfect time to work in some of the younger guys in this game.
September’s almost over. Is it time to write off Florida State yet? - Dr. Saturday - NCAAF Blog - Yahoo! Sports That the article doesn't come out and say "yes" shows how much respect Jimbo has garnered for this program in just 18 games on the job. I agree that FSU should win its next 7 games and be 9-2 going into Gainesville.

Not sure if you caught it, but USF is indeed the fraud we thought they were, losing to Pitt by 3+ touchdowns. USF has been living off gift turnovers and is nothing special. For those of you living in Tampa, your month-long nightmare is over. They've given up more than 1000 yards in their two games against BCS teams while gaining less than 700.
