Inside the Boxscore: FSU 90, UNC 57
1. The margin of victory (90-57) was 33 points, which was the largest of Roy Williams' tenure at UNC. It was the 2nd largest margin of victory in FSUs ACC history, having won by 36 against Virginia in 1994. And it was the most points scored per possession (1.20) by FSU against any opponent since Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2009. UNC scored 0.76 per possession, 20.1% lower than their previous low this season (0.96 against Michigan State on an aircraft carrier).

You read the stats mentioned here, and you know they are correct, but it is still
difficult to believe it happened, and who it happened against.
Not to compare this to perhaps the ultimate American sport moment, but I remember reading that the color commentator, after the Miracle on Ice over the U.S.S.R back in 1980 said, “Don’t hold your breath, this may not happen again for another 20 years.”
With the margin of defeat and statistical disparity, I am thinking the same thing about Saturday’s game.
Come and see the violence inherent in the system!!!
I think it will be longer than 20 years
I don’t expect to see us beat UNC by 33 in hoops in my lifetime ever again, certainly.
It really was surreal in there for that one. I can’t say it was the loudest crowd I’ve ever heard at an FSU hoops game because there was never this feeling of need to be loud, not like when you’re in a dogfight that’s going down to the wire.
It was more just a feeling of jubilation the entire time.
You don’t want to be their next opponent, I’m sure. That may light a fire under them, from this point on. Wouldn’t surprise me if they didn’t get it together from here.

It was a perfect storm of events, and it was magnificent.
Compare this victory to the Wake Forest 30-0 shutout of Florida State.
Michael wrote an excellent article on the current state on UNC basketball program and their shot at the NCAA title, because, after all, they were probably the odds-on-favorite at the beginning of the year to win the NCAA tournament because of their talent.
The fans are still in a state of shock.

"Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man."
yea, there was a mini-meltdown thread over at the TarHeel page.
Come and see the violence inherent in the system!!!
Yeah, I'll bet.
