I've said it once, and I'll say it again.
Bama is better than LSU. Period. Dominated the first game, lost because of special team flukes.

I thought they were better first game too.
Should have won, just blew it. But my goodness if LSU doesn’t do something fast to make this a game, I’m going to bed. Perhaps first championship game I haven’t made it through.

Exactly right. Don't think Alabama had much film on Jefferson
since he was just coming back from exile due to his legal problems.
Weren’t read for option and played it poorly. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice with a month to see tape on you and prep under Saban – Won’t get fooled again
Absolutely. Given this much time to game prep
you’d have to give the advantage to the Tide coaching staff.

Just a two score game. but LSU has got to start moving the ball.
and a missed FG?
Jefferson going back in, let’s see if he can throw it to Bama again.

wonderful possession there, LSU
Geez.

Lol. Smh. This is on the LSU coaching staff. Bama has thoroughly out played and out coached them.
And for them to still be loyal to Jordan Jefferson is ridiculous. If I was a senior lineman I would go to the coaches and ask that Lee get at least 2 series.
The problem with rematches
The winning team has less incentive to make changes and be innovative, whereas the losing team feels cheated and fixes their mistakes
I think the thing that people forget
is that Bama actually moved the ball on LSU last time.. Just missed the kicks. Not missing them tonight. IF they had it would be similar to first game.
Missing still. just taking 13 attempts tonight

dude, this is exciting for a lot of us
Bama is dominating this game, but LSU’s defense is holding them to all FGs – which keeps LSU in it if they can put together a return or offensive drive. defense can be better than offense. the missed FGs arent fun, but blocked ones sure are.

It might have been close to exciting the first time
But after 7+ quarters of no TDs, 6 missed FG and 10 made is not that exciting for me. Kinda sad this is how it ends till end of August

im loving it
dont need TDs to make it a good game. the fact that Bama is dominating up and down the field, but gets stifled when they get near the red zone, is really exciting. the missed FGs in the last game were laughable (and i actually laughed), but this is just hard-nosed defense on both sides. its less exciting than MIckey’s blitzes that came from nowhere on every down, but it doesnt take big plays to make for a good game, just good play.

Your in the minority. I assure you
I dont mind defensive games. And maybe more people here will enjoy this. But this is just not exciting. And not for anyone I am with or talking to. All are wishing OkSt was in this to at least possibly see a TD from 1 team sometime. Even by mistake

EJ needs to give Jefferson some pointers on running the option
the whole “just running for 5 steps then kindly toss it to the other guy” doesn’t seem effective.
nah, this is too fun to watch
his option run is either him getting scared of getting hit, or he has a profound lack of understanding of how the option works

in other awesomeness – if Bama gets 2 more TDs, they would have exactly 3 TDs, but it will have taken them 7 FGs to get them.

then Bama wins the NC
OK state didnt have a shot anyway, since they couldnt convincingly beat Stanford (who is not nearly as good as either of these 2 teams). said it before the game: the winner of this game is the champ, plain and simple.

absolutely no shot for OSU
zero.
I also am convinced now that Bama is the better team. Even in the first game, which they lost, they still LOOKED better. It was a three point loss that had what, four missed FGs?
i knew they were better anyway
even if talent was equal (and it isnt), coaching is far superior at Bama.

But LSU's defense was bending but not breaking and the turnovers were critical
LSU’s was’t moving the ball well, anyway
that "interception" at the goal line that would have been a Bama 1st and goal
is still really controversial. I think it should have been a Bama catch, not an LSU INT. Would have changed everything for the end of that game.

key is effort to separate receiver from the ball

if Bama makes 1 FG in regulation, they win by the same small margin, and we get the same result. LSU’s tough SOS would be used as justification for their ranking.
"I guess they have a reputation of being more of a tricky team and not being tough. You hit ‘em in the mouth, and they don’t like it. Other teams that have beat them just hit them in the mouth, so that’s what we started out with.’’ - Nick Moody
Honestly, I think so...
beat Big East, Pac 12 champs, loss would of been to SEC champs & #1 in country in OT
oh dammit
forgot about the tornado. now THAT becomes the storyline, like the Saints winning for Katrina, the Japanese women’s soccer team winning for the tsunami, etc. newsflash: local natural disasters are totally unrelated to athletic success.

But Alabama players were effected.
Carson Tinker (Bama’s long snapper) was injured in the tornado, and his girlfriend was killed. Alabama players also assisted in the recovery efforts.

being somewhat affected by a storm months ago is not why that team won football games
it cheapens the real reasons: talent, coaching, and hard work. im all about giving credit where credit is due – Saban (and massive talent), Drew Brees, and luck, in that order.

No, it's not why they won.

its too minor to become a major part of the story
thats like saying one kid got hurt early in the season, and everybody played tougher to make up for it – maybe they just played hard anyway.

A major life changing event for their entire community/team, isn't even remotely comparable..
to a kid getting hurt. How many of these kids has experienced a natural disaster before? Much less a tornado? The few from south Florida, and that’s probably it. Things like that alter your perception, and can make you increase focus.
FWIW, I agree with you. It shouldn’t be the main story. But it certainly is a part of it.

No doubt. Bama won because Saban runs a tight ship.
Hold LSU to <100 yards of offense? Only let them cross the 50 once? Only one penalty? Crazy.

We have improved. 1 penalty is rare for the most disciplined of teams
But its easier to not take penalties when a team cant move the ball or beat you and cause you to take one

easy there, not downplaying the absolute destruction
for reference, i grew up in P’cola, and i have a lot of family in LA – suffice it to say, i have seen the destruction natural disasters bring. maybe i am a little numb to them because of it. did not mean to insinuate that it wasnt absolutely horrible.

The Tornado gets talked about as Bama wins
just like whenever a disaster happens and that team wins. As was just mentioned. Japan, N.O. it always happens. Even the hype to game 1 brought it up and how Bama was playing for people.
I am sorry about your father in law. But it was a national story, not just local. telling people to not talk about it unless they saw the devastation means pretend it didnt happen or if you need to avoid it never watch TV or read anything online. I lost my house in hurricane Andrew. And my friends brother was killed. Its terrible. But natural disaster deaths happen.I cant tell people if they were not there to see Andrew hit to not talk about it.

did Bama suddenly get a great QB coach and a really good offensive baseball coach?
yeah, no. we still have them beat, and now we have a pitching coach that means the hitting wont be wasted. win-win.

This game was dumb.
I can take low scoring when it’s close and isn’t so full of Derp. Jordan Jefferson will go down as the most hated QB probably ever.
Knowing is half the battle, the other half is violence.
I have to agree. So much fail by the LSU staff. Lee had his helmet on the entire 2nd half. Their loyalty to one guy caused this team to be shutout in the MNC and tally up 92 yards total.
loyalty was irrelevant
the only positive yards they had were a few passes that either could make, and some scrambles that only Jefferson could make. they figured he was still their best chance, and they were probably (sadly) right.

i would have pulled him to make a point, but i dont think it increases your odds of winning
without a run game, a running QB is your best friend

JJ was awful all night. Something just wasn't right with him.
I also thought LSU’s offensive game plan was too vanilla. No trick plays, they couldn’t run it effectively. Their OL was completely dominated all game and Jefferson was not enough of a leader to rally his guys. The better team won.

It was "fair" that Jefferson finish?
What about the team having a slight shot at a change and chance to score

Lol. WTF. 'We felt like with his feet it was fair to finish with Jordan' hahahaha wtf does that mean. I'm glad they were fair to him over the rest of the entire team
i think you both heard him wrong
he didnt say it like he earned it, just that it was a defensible decision because of his mobility, which is exactly what i said

Lee played in the last one, and threw 2 picks in 7 attempts
not an improvement. Jefferson, as bad as he is and was, still looked better in the same game last time, and i think they were stuck with him.

This game was still a play away in the 3rd
last game was last game. I dont go with not a series in the final game for all the marbles when you dont cross the 50.
Personally. If i was an LSU fan. The “its fair” statement doesnt fly with me a single bit and even if it didnt work, it would not have made it worse. I would be a frustrated LSU fan to not even try it

i understand, but rationally, you have to know trying Lee isn't likely going to help at all
i get giving the other guy a chance when the game is out of reach (late 4th, down 21), but i would have tried Russell Shepard before Lee.

I meant worse then losing by 21 and not scoring a point.
Would losing 28 nothing cause of a turnover be worse then 21-0 and not even a chance. Sometimes the better QB may not be right for that situation. maybe Lee comes in and is so bad he bounces it off his own teammates helmet and it goes into another players hand for a TD. Sometimes its just a change. I mean I see your point. But when ou have not crossed the 50 and are losing and dont look liek you are going to suddenly start moving it. What is there to lose you arent already going to at the pace your playing

When you are facing a D that good, you are just hoping your idiot QB doesnt turn it over.
If there was a time to let it all loose, it would have been in the 4th quarter, when they finally crossed midfield. A penalty and a sack later, there was no chance for 6 and Bama just controlled the clock from there.
