Is winning the ACC the best scenario still available?

I was talking with a friend yesterday and, even though we agreed to stop, we started looking ahead at possible outcomes to the season. We fully excepct NCSU do stumble again and we win the ACC, but then we though about the Orange Bowl. Who would our opponent be? Probably Rutgers. That'll silence our critics. "Well we throttled Rutgers in the Orange Bowl."

Let me preface this by saying that, outside of Bama, I still believe we are the most complete team in the nation. That means I think we can beat anyone if we show up to play. Why settle for the Big East champion? Is it better to win the ACC? It's not like THAT is a feather in our cap. Our prize for winning the ACC, an even worse opponent in the Orange Bowl.

I think there is a scenario that will outrage most of Seminole Nation, initially, but could be a blessing in disguise. Stick with me here. We win out throughout the rest of the regular season, finishing with beating a one-loss Florida. That would propel us to at least thye top 8 in the BCS. However, NC State also wins out and plays (who cares) in the ACCCG. Let the winner of that game play in the Orange Bowl. Now we have an at large bid in the BCS. I don't know who we would play, but it would have to be better than the Big East Champion. In my scenarion, the one loss that Florida had was to UGA, who goes on to lose in the SECCG. An FSU/UGA Sugar Bowl would be a huge seller. There is no doubt that we'd win that game since all you have to do is hit UGA in the mouth and they'll fold up like a cheap tent. We finish the season in the top 5 with a BCS win over an SEC team. I feel like that would be a much better scenario to springboard into next year than mauling Rutgers in the Orange Bowl. Plus, we can still sell "bring us back to ACC Champions" to recruits.
