He should have already had this class but apparently he needs it again. Sit down and let me school you right quick. We here at florida state have endured the latter Bowden years with much pain and suffering. Why? Not only from poor recruiting and nepotism, but because of the whole "play not to lose" style of play calling. This mindset has cost this proud university and its proud fan base a few more national championships than we have currently behind an enclosed glass case at the Moore athletic center.
Year after year we would see a small lead go our way and then someone starts calling running plays as if a first time driver gets into the drivers seat only to freeze up and cant seem to put the car in reverse to get out of the driveway.
The nc state game was no different. With a little over 2 minutes to go and the defense had just stepped up and made a stop with stellar corner play. We get the ball back and its our game to lose and our ball. We run three times with NO effect, including a scared Bambi like qb run play with EJ. All to no avail! We do take one shot on third down to KB but no dice. Do you know that in this situation you have got to get a first down! If you don't you lose! Execution is one thing, but play call is another.
For the life of the university and all that is sacred, please do not do this again. We have seen it year in and year out, game in and game out. Newsflash! IT DOESNT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never has, never will! If you fail to understand this simple piece of coaching, then pack your bags now. That play call is what loser reap. Its the difference between winners and losers. So what are we right now? Losers. Thank you very much. There will be a test on this in a few weeks when the gators come to town. You better be ready.
