Rumor Stoops takes air raid OC, Neal Brown to Kentucky with him

There are rumors on the net that Mark Stoops may take Texas Tech offensive coordinator Neal Brown to Kentucky with him. Neal Brown played under Mumme, Leach and Tony Franklin.

Dana Holgorson played for Mumme and Leach and coached with Sumlin and Gundy.

Mumme said Holgorson had one of the better offensive minds he had ever seen. Holgorson devised a way to incorporate the running game into the air raid offense, which he runs now at West Virginia University, and is called the diamond offense. Mumme who now coaches at some small college said he now uses what Holgorson taught him on putting the running game into the air raid. He said the teacher finally became the pupil.

If this is true it is already looking like a home run situation to me. The only way this team could fail would be lack of talent. Stoops has connections in the Ohio are as we all know and probably thinks he can recruit it. He can compete with Cincy and Louisville, I would think.

Speculation is that Stoops approached Kentucky officials and told them they could win very much to their surprise. All I can say is good luck to Mark Stoops. Truthfully I would love to see Neal Brown come to Tallahassee, either Brown or Tony Franklin. I am a bit jealous.
