Florida State will host Idaho at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee on Nov. 23, 2013, completing its 2013 football schedule. Idaho confirmed the news this morning via its official website.
The Seminoles' other non-conference games include Wofford (a 1-AA), Nevada, and Florida.
Equally as important, however, is that the Seminoles finally have scheduled a cupcake game before taking on Florida -- something the Gators have done the week before taking on Florida State for years. The practice allows for more rest and preparation time before one of the more important games on Florida State's schedule.
Importantly, Florida State avoids the scourge of playing two 1-AA opponents, something that can be easily used against a team as a soundbite by voters in the Coaches and Harris polls, and which can hurt a program's computer numbers.
Florida State originally had an opening in the schedule because West Virginia cancelled on the Seminoles as the Mountaineers moved to the Big XII conference.
The game will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
