Multiple sources and reports indicate that Dameyune Craig will stay at Florida State as quarterback coach and not take a coaching position at Auburn.
Auburn had been rumored to be interested in Craig for its receiver or running back position, mostly because Craig is an excellent recruiter in the state of Alabama.
Craig makes $205,000 at Florida State. He may be in line for a raise in light of his name being mentioned for the job.
One source speculated that new Auburn coach Gus Malzahn did not actually want to hire Craig, but received pressure from Auburn boosters to interview him, as Craig quarterbacked Auburn in the 1990s (Jimbo Fisher was his quarterback coach while at Auburn).
FSU still must fill holes at defensive coordinator, defensive ends coach and running backs coach.
