Offensive Line help
In the recent announcement of transfers by Maryland, I spotted something potentially interesting to Noles fans. Maryland's left tackle Max Garcia (who started all 12 games last year as a true sophomore) cited his reason for transferring as wanting to move closer to his home in Georgia. He is listed as from Norcross, Georgia (Atlanta area), so it would be about 5 hours to FSU instead of 10 hours to College Park. He also was interested in FSU out of high school. Garcia would have 2 years to play 2 after sitting out a transfer season. Is there any interest on FSU's part or would this kid consider FSU as somewhere close enough to home? Considering the offensive line troubles this past year and the youth we have there, I know that the real need is for immediate help this fall. And the signings of Glauser and Watson should help there, but would you turn away a player who started a full season at left tackle? Ultimately, is it a case where by the time he sits out his transfer season Garcia is no longer that much of a help or do you think the Noles should go after Garcia?

Probably Pass
I feel like we need at least 4 younger guys in this next cycle because we already have brought in a lot of JUCO transfers the past couple years.
I would like to see more balance as far as OL ages so that we don’t create gaps in age groups for OL development. I think that is what happened this past year. They were either old or young and a couple injuries thrust us to have to start a lot of freshman.
The next time we play UF 1,092 days will have passed since they have been able to hold our jock strap.

Can you go into the rules of that a bit?
How can they control where kids go if they still have to sit out a year?

Not a rules expert
but it’s common practice for a player not to be cleared for transfer to a team that is on the near term schedule of the school he’s transferring from. That would preclude a transfer to the named teams on the schedule but all the conference schools because there is a chance of playing any confeernce team. ACC rules also specify that a player in an intra conference transfer not only sit out a year while fulfilling their “year in residence”, but they also lose one year of the 4 and 5 year clock and can’t receive financial aid.
Taking this into account, it’s weird that Vandy was knocked out of the picture since they weren’t on Maryland’s near term schedule.

Sorry for posting this, its off topic.....
THANKS FOR AN AWESOME WIFE FOR GETTING ME DUKE TICKETS!!!!! The last game i went to I was a youngin’ and barely remember watching some gu named Tim Duncan play.
Honestly
too much competition here for him. With two JUCO transfers, Bobby Hart, JM, the two DLs moving over, etc, and all but the JUCOs overlapping every year he’d be here, just too many for him to seriously consider FSU from a football standpoint.
