As I said, Scout’s system is just beyond stupid. FSU has 6 of the top 50 kids in the COUNTRY, by their own ratings. Yet they say this is not a top five class?
Antiquated.
They’re largely irrelevant. Lack of analysts, can’t see enough prospects, so everyone is a 5 star.
IMO shouldn’t even be factored into composite rankings…3 is fine

According to them, FSU has 21 HS recruits and 0 Junior College guys.

espn loves our classes, the other services are less ecstatic. i trust the coaching staff’s decisions on kids, which espn agrees with and reflects, so im monitoring espn more closely than the others.

Joe Mauer. Winston would be the 3rd #1 QB prospect to pick the noles and go Baseball. I’m hoping he doesn’t, this would really round out the class nicely and provide needed/future depth at the QB position.

uneasy feeling
if he’s all Nole and jsut wants to be with his family and have a chance to have their approval before he signs, I can understand that, but why all the attention and publicity?

I can remember buddies having public signings back in the 90s before they were broadcast or anything. I wouldn’t read too much into it.
I would be much more uneasy if he hadn't so emphatically been all Nole on signing day even stating he wanted Darby and Agholor to sign with FSU.

and it makes perfect sense to do that when you get home … get home ask mom and dad if that’s the right thing to do get approval from everyone you feel is necessary … sign and fax … be a nole. But instead you get,Oh, I’ll do it tomorrow or a week later and do it at 11:30 on the radio … wtf!
Not worried about them for Winston, but you just know that Stanford is gonna be a pest on the recruiting trail.
A free Stanford education is hard to turn down.
Can’t wait for Stanford to steal a Bama recruit and a Bammer Harvey Updike’s their mascot.

If Winston doe sign with FSU as it sounds, is he obligated to play football at FSU or can he leave if drafted by MLB. I am guessing he can leave but was curious. Then if that happens is it too late to offer his schollie to someone else/
He can choose to leave if he’s drafted, and it would be too late to offer the scholarship to someone, unless we wanted to give it to a greyshirt.

Trust....
All you can do is trust someone until they break that trust. He’s given us no major reason not to trust him. No point in stressing out.
Also, Jimbo has placed 3 guys in the NFL. Two of which were 1st rd draft picks.

It would indeed suck if he flaked out on us, but..
I have faith that we built a strong enough relationship with Winston that he stays true. If he doesn’t, too bad for him because we are about to F’ng ball out in the next few yrs.
