FSU's hidden gem, Menelik Watson
Here's a great story about Menelik Watson. Tells a lot about his twisting journey to becoming an FBS recruit. Apparently fell in love with FSU when a friend brought him to the BYU-FSU game in Doak.
Trickett flew out to visit Watson at Saddleback on Dec. 1 and offered him a scholarship on the spot. "He walked in and I said, 'Holy hell, that guy is big,'" Trickett said. "Jimbo [Fisher] asked me what he looked like, and I told him, 'If you were to draw up a [dream] lineman, that's what he looks like. I've never coached a guy who was 320 pounds and moved like he did on tape."

holy hell were my sentiments exactly, but I don't seem to know much about big time foot ball.
For example guys that move like him, and have little to no EXPERIENCE, as him, interest the living hell out of me, and make me start asking a million questions.
What is his mindset? Is he teachable? Why Football? Why now? Do all of his coaches like him? How are his grades?
Guys without a resume can be the really big find, because they merely did something else as they were growing up. What better place than FSU for a guy to get an advanced education in a hurry?
I posted a while back that a guy like this has no ceiling on his potential. Ihave not changed my mind.
What we got here in Tally is the United Nations...
Trickett’s too funny.
My first thought when reading Reggie Johnson was that he was the RJ that played TE. Guess not.

Tommyhawk Nation: Bobby Bowden is the all-time ACC leader in conference titles, conference wins, total wins, winning percentage, bowl appearances & wins and owns the longest conference winning streak.
Fantastic Story
I’m going to search this guy out sometime and shake his hand, talk about perseverance. I think he’s going to destroy d-lines and be AMAZING on run support. His JUCO film is ridiculous… the speed and strength on this guy is going to make the opposing team cry.
Dan Patrick: "Is Ponder a good name for a quarterback?"
Christian Ponder: "Why? Because you say I overthink things? is that what you’re trying to imply? As crazy as it sounds, my mom’s maiden name is actually SuperBowlWinner. Isn’t that crazy?"
DP: "Now is that hyphenated?"
CP7: "No, it’s all one word."
Just a super story
Trick now has a chance to show us just how good a teacher he really is.
Men Watson is the Mona Lisa of paint, brush and canvas. Our staff justs needs to put it all together and produce a masterpiece.

What a great story.....
I want him to suceed so bad, not just because it will be awesome for NOLES success, but for the fact he has had such a crazy life. Can’t wait!
?!?!?!?!?
He’s 6-foot-6 1/2, 320 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.72 seconds.
A child of five would understand this. Send someone to fetch a child of five.
Groucho Marx
Doubt he can drop his butt like Fkrug
when he snaps the ball though.
