Think they'll bring Casher in on obvious passing downs?
I think he’ll need snaps this year to accelerate preparation for a significant role in ’13.
Control the Sunshine State & sooner or later you'll control the country.
Perhaps
Also an angle to consider there is the fact that he just sat out his senior season. Would love to be able to let him lift and reach his optimum playing weight, which I feel will be 265-270. But would we want to risk him sitting out two full seasons of football because of it?
II agree with you, he’ll be relied upon heavily in ’13. Bjoern, Tank and Jenkins all leaving.
No way i would have him sit two years.
Of course, i trust our staff completely in this..i remember when he committed i thought he could potentially be the best pickup in an incredible class. Good times for FSU.

He is a physical freak.
He was playing receiver as a junior. Runs a legitimate 4.6 40 yard dash. We’ll see what they choose to do with him, I’m excited about Casher, really almost as much as anyone else in the class. I love the class a lot haha
I think you forgot a big one.
Christo Kourtzidis will probably see the field a lot if he can learn the offense when he comes in. I think he can because he seems like a smart kid.
Great point
I should add him. I’ve heard rumors of moving Hicks over to TE (the position he was initially recruited at) and he played the role a bit in goal line situations this season, but tight end is a position that leaves a lot to be desired.
what happened to the vaunted bare handed Nick O'leary?

It’s this new thing going around campus lately-I think it’s known by the term…"winning". I hear it’s really addictive and the real hardcore victory junkies can smell it from all the way across the nation."

He's only one person
And although a freshman, he was just decent. He doesn’t equate to depth at the position. Will Tye is still a virtual no show.

The also play different roles.
NOL is more of a pass-catching TE/H-Back and Christo is more of a traditional in-line tight end.

Marvin Bracy
Michael Ray Garvin type back there with Los on KO returns

Pretty much everyone in the class
That doesn’t play QB, WR, or DB. Those positions have uncrackable depth charts for 2012. RB, OL, TE, P, and LB are all very thin. DL has great depth too but rotates often.

Thinking outside of the box
If Watson’s 4.7 40 yard dash is accurate, would it be possible to have him as a jumbo TE in some sets?
I doubt it happens, but I would love to have Goldman RS this year.

i think Goldman is Timmy J 2.0, bigger and faster and will make just as big an impact

Nah
Jernigan is better than Goldman and whether or not he’s faster is debatable. Have to also remember that the depth when Goldman arrives is greater than the depth Jernigan had to overcome.
I think Goldman is bigger, but TJ is faster. Absolutely correct about the depth chart, which is why I wouldnt mind seeing Goldman RS.

I would like to
See him RS as well. Only thing is, if he’s the caliber of player many believe he is, would it mean only having him play 2yrs here? Thats the risk you run with having such a talented and loaded depth chart. Dont get me wrong, thats a good thing. With him already at playing weight I highly doubt he’ll RS.

Dude, before its all said & done "Tim magic" is going to put FSU DT's back on the map.
Hes special. Not saying Goldman isnt, they’re just different players.
Control the Sunshine State & sooner or later you'll control the country.
Not a challenge...
How are they different? They look like the same (very good) player to my inexpert eyes.
Dogs bark in the night but the caravan moves on.
Jernigan uses his hands
better than anyone on our roster. It’s pretty ridiculous what he’s able to do, almost makes him unblockable. Goldman is a monster as well though. Jernigan will probably get to the QB a bit more, but Goldman may end up being the run stuffing type. He’s 310 lbs at least already and hasn’t set foot on campus.
Goldman is generally going to hold the point of attack.
Completely clog the middle and occupy multiple blockers. Jernigan IS the counterattack. He’s going to be the guy making some poor fool look ridiculous if 1 on 1. OR he’s going to also occupy two blockers while one of our DEs adds to the highlight reel. The problem opposing offenses will have is facing 4 DL who all, at some point will require multiple blockers making it generally unnecessary to blitz and thus giving us a huge numbers advantage. This defense is gonna be sexy, trendy, feared and remarkably difficult to score on.

Just reading these posts about Jernigan and Goldman
is making me fiend for next season. It is going to be a brutal 7 months. So many questions. My favorite though, is just how good will our defense be next year?
Not just in the country (top 2 easily) but compared to some of the other great defenses in FSU history. Will our defensive line resemble that of the 96 squad? Better?
Our secondary is deep, experienced, and flat out awesome. Joyner’s might be up there with some FSU greats if he stays all 4 years.
Will Jeff Luc live up to the hype? Linebackers are the defense’s weakest link, but that’s hard to say without smiling when you have athletic freaks like CJones.
Can’t wait
