""I don't say this very often... I am the ultimate coach-talk kind of guy. But we are going to be pretty good," said Fisher, during Thursday night's first stop on the Seminole Boosters Spring Tour at Pensacola's Crowne Plaza Grand Hotel.
As the sold-out banquet audience got silent, Fisher repeated his belief with emphasis on his conviction.
"I am not scared to say it," Fisher said. "I am walking down the road with it. Because I know the players' attitude. I know what kind of ability we have. I know what kind of depth we have.
"We are going to be a real good football team."
For anyone who knows Fisher, this was unusual candor. He also knows it needs to prove true."
It's so funny to me that last year, people were sky high about this team, even though we strongly suspected the 2012 version would be much better.
Now 2012 is here, the team does look to be much better, and the excitement is strangely absent for a team that should be the best in the last decade (though I'll argue the 2011 edition was also the best since '03).
