Florida State head football coach Jimbo Fisher was asked about the potential for FSU to leave the ACC and head to the Big XII among all the conference expansion rumors.
Here's what he told Andy Staples:
Couple things from Jimbo Fisher at ACC meetings: First, he said conference affiliation is up to prez and trustees.— Andy Staples (@Andy_Staples) May 14, 2012
Jimbo: "I'm not a decision-maker."— Andy Staples (@Andy_Staples) May 14, 2012
And Coley Harvey
Jimbo also added the influence of TV dollars and the impact fans have as being factors in all of the expansion talk— Coley Harvey (@os_coleyharvey) May 14, 2012
Good to know that Jimbo's coach speak is sharp as ever. I'm sure those fine outlets will have more later in the day.
Second interesting thing from Fisher: ACC coaches want conference champs in the playoff.— Andy Staples (@Andy_Staples) May 14, 2012
To me, this item is much more interesting, because I don't think Jimbo believes this. Or rather, if FSU switches to the Big XII, expect him to change his tune with a quickness.
Correction, Jimbo does not believe this. He's simply stating the position of the majority of ACC coaches.
