Florida State's Baseball Season Ends With 10-3 Loss To Arizona In Final Four.
Florida State's SP Leibrandt lasted only .1 inning, despite only allowing (arguably) a single hard hit. A few bloop hits, a throw off a comebacker to set up a double play launched into CF, and two other miscues conspired to have FSU down 4-0 and then 6-0 early in the ballgame. Early on, FSU hit the ball quite hard, but they were right at Arizona defenders for outs. Zona added two homers in the middle innings to push the lead to 10-1. This was a great season for the 'Noles. Relative to the talent level and expectations (of even the most optimistic FSU fans), it was the best Florida State season in a long while. Huge credit needs to go to Florida State's coaching staff. Martin for bringing in Mike Bell, Bell for deciding to go with and then grooming two freshman starters, and Martin Jr. for again developing a tremendous lineup with arguably the best approach in college baseball. Gonna miss seniors like the SHERMANATOR and James Ramsey. And probably Travis and Boyd, as well. Hats off, Florida State baseball, for getting every ounce of performance out of your talent.
