Rose Bowl deal with ESPN for $80 million yearly

The Rose Bowl has agreed to a deal with ESPN to pay an average of $80 million yearly. The money will go exclusively to the B1G and Pac12, except in years that the Rose Bowl hosts a playoff semifinal. This does lend some credence to the idea that the Rose Bowl may want to be a playoff site infrequently. That way they won't have to split their revenue according to the playoff structure.
