Why are we profiling these two freshmen today? Speed. Lots, and lots of speed.
I don't think either Darby or Bracy will play much this year on defense or offense, respectively. At least not in meaningful time.
But they do have a shot to make some noise in the return game.
Florida State has its All-American punt returner in Greg Reid, so there might not be much wiggle room there.
But kick return team may offer a chance for some early excitement. FSU returns excellent kick returner Karlos Williams, the reserve sophomore safety who reminds everyone of Vanover. Opposite Williams is all-world safety Lamarcus Joyner.
Joyner did improve as a returner in 2011, but the possibility of injury still exists. And he's much more valuable on defense than he is returning kicks.
If either of these world-class sprinters can step up and take the No. 2 kick returner job, it would help the Seminoles quite a bit by reducing the chance that Joyner, perhaps the team's most valuable defender, gets hurt.
