Why do highly ranked recruits from FL stay uncommited?

Stay connected for news and updates

First fan post so go easy on me. Every year it seems that the top recruits that are from the state of FL always take it down to the very last minute to make their commitments, while top recruits that are from other states seem to make that verbal commitment alot earlier? When I say "top recruits" im referring to ESPNU150 kids. For instance, this year out of the Top 25, the state of FL has 6 recruits and only 1 of them has committed.

Overall, 11 out of the top 25 are uncommitted, 5 being from the state of FL and the other 6 are all from different states(TX, GA, LA, MD, PA, MS). So out of the Top 25, 24% of them are from the state of FL, with a 16% commitment rate. The rates go up the farther down the 150 you go but obviously the talent level goes down. I noticed this same trend last year and the year before.

Do any of yall have a opinion on why it seems the top players that are from the state of FL stay uncommitted for so long? Is it because FL is so rich in talent that they are recruited by so many different schools, therefore its harder for them to make a decision? Is it possibly a ego issue with recruits from FL? Thanks for reading and responding!<!
