The 2012 Preseason All-ACC Football Team was released today. You can see it here.

Florida State, tabbed by the media at the ACC Football Kickoff to win its first ACC Football title since 2005, was represented by defensive end Brandon Jenkins (Tallahassee, Fla.), safety Lamarcus Joyner (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), placekicker Dustin Hopkins (Houston, Texas) and cornerback Greg Reid (Valdosta, Ga.), who was named as the specialist for his abilities as a punt and kickoff returner.

FSU Snubs

  • Bjoern Werner is easily better than James Gayle and especially Malliciah Goodman. Werner would be the best DE on every ACC team.
  • Xavier Rhodes is better than both David Amerson and Kyle Fuller at corner, but I understand this is a game of name recognition, and Rhodes didn't help his cause in 2011 with the injuries and early-season attitude issues.
  • Christian Jones is as good as any of the linebackers voted in, but because he was used in coverage so often, and to funnel runners back to flowing tacklers, his name recognition isn't there.

FSU Undeserving Members: None.
