It appears that Florida State has found room for Adrian Baker, the cornerback the Seminoles were apparently not ready to take Monday night. This, per Josh Newberg.

Baker is a consensus three-star recruit, but does have a four-star rating from ESPN. Baker is not a bad player. In fact, he's pretty good. He just wasn't higher than a few players on Florida State's board.

It appears that Florida State has elected to avoid a PR mess and potentially damaging its relationship with high school coaches, and has accepted the commitment. It's not a bitter pill for Florida State to follow, as Baker is definitely a good player.

Baker is listed at 6'1 and 175 pounds on some recruiting sites. Having seen him in person, I'll say that the 6'1 is much more accurate than the 175. He is a good player, but he did not stand out to me at the recent Jimbo Fisher Camp.

He'll play the field corner position in all likelihood, and that raises questions as to the permanence of Sojourn Shelton's spot in the class. Or, it could be that Florida State is likely to take a very large class after undersigning a bit in the last two years.

The commitment also raises questions about the likely destination (and grades) of some of the recruits believed to be above Baker on FSU's board.

He is the 15th commitment of Florida State's class, and certainly a kid who really, really wanted to be a 'Nole.
