Here are the current Florida State Baseball players participating in summer leagues across the country.

As of two days ago Holland and Howard were the only hitters playing until Seth Miller joined. Ramsey, Sherman, Gonzalez, Boyd and Travis all participated in summer leagues during their time at FSU so in a year where there are big question marks regarding the offense it seems a bit discouraging to see so few current players participating.
It is good to see some of the seldom-used pitchers playing this summer. Geist has obviously had the most work so far and is looking to be a contributor after only pitching one inning in his first two years at school. No other pitcher has thrown enough to warrant an evaluation. Leibrandt and Compton were asked to stay home this summer and rest after throwing a lot of innings their freshman seasons.
For some further reading on the talent levels that play in these leagues here is an article from Boyd's World.
The six drafted Seminoles who have signed have or will report to their assigned rookie ball teams and as they post more playing time we will keep you aware of their progress. Here is where those six are currently playing
- Sherman Johnson - Pioneer League - Orem Owlz (LAA)
- James Ramsey - Florida State League - Palm Beach Cardinals (STL)
- Jayce Boyd - New York-Penn League - Brooklyn Cyclones (NYM)
- Devon Travis and Hunter Scantling - New York-Penn League - Connecticut Tigers (DET)
- Robert Benincasa - New York-Penn League - Auburn Doubledays - (WAS)
Lastly here is an article that was just published by former Florida State great Bryan Henry and his minor league experience.
Hope you enjoy your 4th of July and big thank you from everyone at Tomahawk Nation if you or a loved one has ever served our country.
Go Noles!
