Maryland Update

Randy Edsall is holding a press conference at 2:15, but the news is that our starting QB CJ Brown has been lost for the year with a ACL injury. With Danny O'Brien transferring to Wisconsin and Tyler Smith to Elon, our first and second string QB this year will be true freshman Perry Hills and Caleb Rowe. Less signficiant, though it seemed significant at the time was safety Matt Robinson was injured yesterday and other than QB, that was the position least likely to be able take an injury. Robinson's injury is probably not a season ending injury, but Edsall remains snake bitten. Last year according to Phil Steele's magazine Maryland lost the most starts (where a starter is out for a game) due to injury out of 120 football team( http://blog.philsteele.com/2012/07/05/2011-starts-lost-to-injury/ ) and that trend continues losing their starting QB and having a true freshman replacing them for the season (12 starts right there for 2012) and losing their starting strong safety for a while (hopefully not long--its unknown now how serious that injury is) and having a true freshman replace them.
