As we first reported on August 7th, UCF forward Keith Clanton was considering transferring after the Knights became ineligible for post season play. Clanton, a senior, could have transferred without penalty and been eligible to play immediately.

Clanton - a 6-9 face-up power forward - averaged 14.5 points and 8.1 rebounds last season.

FSU is currently only using 12 of 13 potential scholarships - so space is available - and could also use a veteran big man who has 2nd or 3rd team All Conference abilities.

Tonight he announced that he'll be staying with UCF.

This means that FSU will likely use its 13th scholarship on a walk on. Joey Moreau has been with the team four years, Rafael Portuondo for three, and the newest walkon - Joell Hopkins from TCC - could have played elsewhere under scholarship.
