Yesterday we reported that 5* Seminole legacy Xavier Rathan-Mayes would be taking an unofficial visit to FSU next week (starting on Thursday). And then today XRM announced his final five college choices. Considering he's visiting next week, it's no surprise that FSU is on the list.
My top 5 are Baylor, FSU, Uconn, Illinois and Texas no specific order

What is surprising is two teams which aren't on the list: UCLA and Kansas. Does this make it easier for FSU?
Yes and no. The good news is that none of the five remaining teams could be considered basketball royalty. UConn's coach is 70 years old and his team is currently under scholarship reductions. Illinois fired their head coach at the end of last season and then proceeded to hire someone (John Groce) with little name value.Texas is a strong, but under-performing program. And Baylor's head coach is neither my favorite person, nor the favorite of other coaches.
The downside is that all four colleges have facilities and resources which are better than FSU's. The lack of resources means that FSU simply can't make the number of recruiting trips that other programs can make. So how many times will XRM play this season with a member of the Illinois, Baylor, Texas or UConn staffs in attendance, but no one from FSU?
Rathan-Mayes is the No. 23 player in the 2013 class, according to ESPN.
