There’s been so much excitement for the new 2013 football season, and a lot of expectations. Should we temper those expectations? What should we expect? Is Jimbo the guy to really put Florida State in a BCS championship game? Or are we asking too much from a three year head coach? And what is or should be the expectations for the season record wise?

A lot of people have been wondering what type of season FSU will have. I do question can we really put together a complete focus season. However, I do like the message that the team is putting out right now, while listening to media day interviews, I must say I like the message coming from Tallahassee. It sounded so rehearse like the teams suchas the Patriots, Green bay, and even the Giants. Everyone was saying the same thing, “One day at a time, we have to prove it on the field “ etc,etc. It sounded rehearse and boring. But on the other hand it sounded like a focus team and a team on the same page. I do still believe the offensive line has some depth issues, Those Juco players are big and talented but we’ve heard that before. I also question what our identity will be on offense this year, will we be a multiple wide receiver team or will we be a two tight end power team. I love the depth a receiver and our pass catching tight end, but then were hanging a lot of responsibility on the two biggest question marks on the team the Oline and The QB. Both should be better but that’s yet to be seen. The Linebacker position also has some depth issues.

So what should we expect from this team, I really can see 11 wins and a BCS bow win. While examining the schedule every game is winnable but to go undefeated is extremely tough it takes way too many breaks and a good amount of luck. I don’t doubt Jimbo Fisher ability to build a program and eventually bring a National Championship to Tallahassee sometime during his tenure. But I do think it’s a lot ask Jimbo to build a program in three years, while learning to be a head coach, and then win a National Championship. I can only think of Larry Coker of Miami winning a championship in such a short of amount of time, although he didn’t have to be build a program, Butch Davis and Nevin Shapiro took care of the building part. I do believe Jimbo must have a big year, with the loss of a couple of assistants, (Mark Stoops, DJ Elliot, and maybe Greg Hudson, this is pure speculation) after this year. There will be some uncertainty coming after this year. It should be to find a good defense coordinator to coach this great talent Jimbo has assembled

I think we win 11 games, I Jimbo evolves into a good head coach, and our offensive line is better than average, EJ Manuel elevates his game to the point where he becomes a second round pick, and Rashard Greene goes for a 1,000 yards receiving. But I do believe Bjorn Werner takes a step back and Tank Carrandine over takes him and have big year next to Brandon Jenkins. We will get a real ideal of what Jimbo and what FSU will be in the next five years from this year.
