Dustin Hopkins and EJ Manuel spoke with the Media Tuesday. Seminoles.com has conveniently broken it down into tweets. That's good, because it allows me to type less. Full video will be available later. Here are the highlights.
Hopkins: we have a very vocal group of leaders.
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) August 7, 2012#Noles
Hopkins: The media and outside attention was not the reason for our lack of performance last year.
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) August 7, 2012#Noles
Hopkins: As far as kick-offs and rule changes, I will do what I am told.
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) August 7, 2012#Noles
Hopkins: I was kind of disappointed in the new kicking rules. I am just going with it.
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) August 7, 2012#Noles
For those who do not know, kicks are now moved up five yards. And touchbacks resulting from kickoffs are now taken out to the 25.
Hopkins: I will miss Shawn as a holder.
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) August 7, 2012#Noles
Referring to punter Shawn Powell, who graduated.
Manuel: Yesterday was frustrating that we couldn't get it in.
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) August 7, 2012#Noles
Referring to Monday's rained out and drained out practice.
Manuel: There is a lot of jawing in 7-on-7 when the coaches aren't out there.
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) August 7, 2012#Noles
Manuel: Telvin has taken over right where Greg left off from day one Sunday.
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) August 7, 2012#Noles
He means taken over as the vocal leader.
Manuel: Goldman and Mario are appealing...they are big. Goldman probably has the quickest step of all the D Linemen I am told.
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) August 7, 2012#Noles
Having seen Timmy Jernigan, I believe that the defensive lineman who told this to EJ Manuel is inaccurate. Or maybe Manuel misunderstood. Goldman is extremely impressive, but he doesn't have a better first step than a guy like Jernigan or Dawkins.
