It is still early. Real early. But Lou Ciaccia pointed out something very interesting on Twitter today: The ACC has won every non-conference game in which it has been favored to win.
For a conference that has seriously struggled with playing other conferences, that is a huge achievement. The ACC is 15-3 overall in the non-conference, 14-0 as a favorite, and 1-3 as an underdog.
And against other BCS conference teams, the conference is 4-3!
Granted, there are still 30 non-conference games to be played, but this is sort of a big deal. Finally, the ACC is not having a year in which it is suffering ridiculous losses.
Is the conference really better? Those who believe it is will cite the nine starting quarterbacks who returned from 2011. Or it could be that the expectations have been lowered and the conference is scheduling better. Or luck. Ciaccia examines:
@tomahawknation @evenflow58 Smarter scheduling, slightly better football, or just luck? ACC had so many close ones go against them over yrs

Just thinking, did the ACC just get through the first two weeks without losing to an OOC opponent they were supposed to beat?

No eye-opening wins for sure, but no bad losses is an improvement. In Arrested Development style, I'm upgrading ACC to "Don't Buy!" Party!
