Prayers for Terrance Shannon until we hear that he is alright
It was the perfect storm of awfulness. FSU lost the game because they didn't take care of the ball and had their worst 3-point game since an 0-9 effort vs Clemson seven years ago. They got blown out because UVA made 7 of their first 9 3s. But the worst part is what happened to Terrance Shannon.
In a game the refs allowed to get out of hand, Terrance Shannon was injured while battling down low. It appeared to be a freak injury where he was bent over and hit his head at an awkward angle against the hip of the Virginia defender who was coming at him. It looked like he took at least one step after contact, and reached for his head, but after that he didn't move. The paramedics strapped him to a board, turned him over, and rushed him to the hospital.
Until I hear further, I don't want to waste my time with a recap. FSU got blown out. The Noles are 2-2 and on the wrong side of the bubble. Move on. For now I'm just waiting to hear about Shannon.
I still remember where I was when I heard about Aubrey Boyd's injury. I don't think this will end up in that category, but still, it's an unsettling feeling.
Prayers go out that it was just a stinger. Information coming in from the ambulance indicate that Shannon is awake and communicating with the paramedics.
