Florida State's Dameyune Craig leaving for Auburn

John Reed-US PRESSWIRE

Florida State's quarterback coach Dameyune Craig has accepted the wide receiver coaching position at Auburn University.

Craig has been with the Seminoles since the 2010 season.

Craig is coveted for his recruiting prowess, which is tremendous, particularly in Alabama, as Auburn knows all too well after losing battles to FSU in recent years. The most high-profile of which was for quarterback Jameis Winston, who committed to the Seminoles after an intense battle with the Crimson Tide and the Tigers.

Craig makes $205,000 at Florida State. Auburn can surely offer more than the Seminoles.

Craig is routinely accused of dirty recruiting by opposing fans, the loudest contingent of which has been Auburn, whom Craig quarterbacked in 1996 and 1997.

Those battles with Auburn have led to some fans in orange and blue to hold ill will toward Craig. Despite being an Auburn alum, he is rumored to have used negative tactics against the Tigers, including allegations of racism.
