Florida State has reached out to Alabama running backs coach regarding vacancy left by Eddie Gran.
Florida State has contacted Alabama running backs coach Burton Burns regarding its vacancy at running backs coach. It is uncertain whether or not FSU has offered Burns the position at this point.
The position opened up in mid December with the announcement that former running backs coach Eddie Gran would be moving on to become the offensive coordinator under Tommy Tubberville at Cincinnati after three seasons with Jimbo Fisher in Tallahassee.
Burns has been a member of the Alabama coaching staff since Nick Saban arrived as head coach of the Crimson Tide in 2007. During his time coaching running backs in Tuscaloosa, Burns has been a part of three national championship teams, the most recent of which came last night in Miami.
Fisher has already hired away one Alabama assistant coach since the end of the regular season in former UA defensive backs coach Jeremy Pruitt, who was named defensive coordinator on Dec. 20.
