and my Nole boys had to go to Clem & Son to play them there. Your old Uncle Peach was nervous. They was ranked #3, and we was ranked... I dunno what. See, we got slaughtered by Myamuh first game of the year. We thought we'd win that one, dadgummit. Our QB was Chip Ferguson-- good boy but he weren't no Peyton Manning, if you know what I mean..
Anyway, we show up, and those Tiggers are at the top of the hill, just a rubbin's that rock. A great Nole, great Nole, name of Deion Sanders--I ever tell you about him?-- he stands at the bottom of that hill sayin' "Come on down-- ain't nothin' happening up there!"
Well, the game went back and forth. Those orange boys were good-- 'bout the best ath-a-letes money could buy. Late in the game, Deion stands back to take a punt, looks at the crowd and points to the end zone. Callin' his shot, just like Babe Ruth, I'm tellin' ya. They kick the ball to him, and you and I never saw somethin' so fast! Weaved in and out all the way to glory. But it wasn't over yet, not by a long shot.
In the 4th quarter, it was tied up. They had us pinned back, and we had to punt. All they had do was come down and kick a field goal, and that would have been it. No time for nothin' else. So we lined up to punt, and ole Bobby pulled out a play he'd been a-savin'. Some yankee later called it the greatest play since "My Fair Lady". This is what it sounded like:Gene is The Man!
