I'm talking about the ACC administration. Remember when FSU would draw inordinate amounts of holding calls and nearly every ACC game involved horrible, ESPN-making, referee calls? The ACC was severely damaging its product when this was happening. It was shooting itself in the foot, constantly. It was unbelievably frustrating to watch and just reinforced the ACC's reputation as a provincial, lesser conference.
that was then. I'm noticing a titanic shift in the officiating this year, maybe it started last year, can't recall. But, no more games are being decided by the refs anymore. The ACC product has greatly improved because of this, as much as it can be I suppose. I suspect the conference realignment had something to do with the big wake up call but that is just supposition.
it is very good to see.
