First, I have to say I feel pretty embarrassed for picking against JW5 and the 'Noles last weekend. I've been a big college football fan for longer than I'd like to admit, but I've never really witnessed anything quite like what he's been able to accomplish so far this season. Kid has a chance to go down in the books as one of the most gifted players ever. Not just at FSU, either. Pretty impressive.
Anyways, as a bit of penance I figured I'd post a few updated graphs showing how the defense is progressing relative to last year's exceptional crew. This generated a decent amount of discussion last time and it's easy to update the charts with new data so I figured I would.
Generally speaking, looks like the D has really stepped up its game over the last few weeks. Still giving up a few more first downs than I'd like to see, but it's really just splitting hairs at this point. Hard to see a weakness in this team right now if it keeps playing like it has for the last 10 quarters. Could be a special year.
