Way back in 2011, I wrote this article. Reread it and you'll see that that there was something fishy about the tendency of refs to call holding penalties on FSU as opposed to its competition. It was something documented by the media, spoken about by Jimbo Fisher, and griped about by the fans (as shown by the poll in the article I wrote).
Now that we're at the midpoint of the season, I went back and counted and you may be surprised by the holding penalty situation this season...
The refs are STILL calling more holding penalties on us than on opponents. Well, just kidding, kind of. We have been called for 6 holding penalties in 6 games this year, to our opponents 5 holding penalties.
My question to y'all is why you think this is the case this year as opposed to years past. Do you think that our offensive line is just BETTER and executing better fundamentally so that they don't commit the penalties? Do you think that the ACC has finally realized that they need to stop biting the hand that feeds them (FSU)? Do you think there was never a problem in the first place with holding calls and that it was just a conspiracy theory?
